Great importance is given to allowing our horses to have the opportunity to exercise in appropriately managed fields of varying sizes. Our emphasis has always been to allow then to enjoy their retirement in as natural an environment as possible. We have found that allowing the majority of our horses, but especially older horse the space to move around outside in all but the harshest weather means they stay fitter and more flexible for longer.
We are fortunate to be able to regulate the grazing according to the horses needs at varying times of the year. Horses and ponies will live out in well managed pasture but will also have access to their own stable should the need arise to bring them in due bad weather conditions or ill health. All horses are turned out with carefully chosen companions to allow normal social interaction.
Duncrahill has excellent off road private tracks for those horses that still enjoy the occasional hack. There is also a 20x40 floodlit outdoor arena.
As horses get older we all have to face the possibility of making what can be a heartbreaking decision about their future. We understand how hard this can be as we ourselves have been there many times. We are here to give you support and guidance and will never pass judgement. We are able to make all the arrangements necessary, to your specification. We are also able to help with any memorial, be it planting a tree or scattering ashes in our peaceful Glen.
